The 2027 Jeep Renegade Needs A Makeover - This Concept Delivers
by AutoExpert | 30 May, 2025
Jeep’s lineup in Europe just got a bit busier with the new Compass joining the entry-level Avenger and the older Renegade. Outside North America, the Renegade is still hanging on—but let’s be honest, time hasn’t been all that kind to it.
With its roots dating back to 2014, the Renegade is now one of the oldest players still on sale in the small SUV space. Sure, it’s had a few updates over the years, but its look feels more like a time capsule than a modern contender.

Jeep has already confirmed that a brand-new Renegade is in the pipeline for 2027, with a U.S. starting price expected below $25,000. Instead of waiting to see what Jeep might do next, independent designer Marco Maltese took the initiative and created a digital vision of what a next-generation Renegade could be.
His redesign keeps the Renegade compact but gives it a completely new attitude. The soft shapes of the current model are replaced with clean lines, sharp edges, and aggressive fender flares. It rolls on large wheels with low-profile tires for a sportier look, while a separate Trailhawk version was imagined with all-terrain rubber for more rugged appeal.

Up front, the traditional round headlights make way for striking semi-circle LED graphics, a growing trend seen on many vehicles. Jeep’s trademark seven-slot grille is still there, though, flanked by thick black cladding and a chunky bumper that screams off-road ready.
Around the back, Maltese kept the design upright and tough-looking. Slimmer LED taillights give it a modern touch, while a sturdy skid plate ties it all together with the same rugged vibe as the front. Inside, he envisioned a minimalist, digital-heavy cockpit with clever storage built into the dash and center console.

When the real Jeep Renegade lands in 2027, it’ll ride on Stellantis’ compact platform and likely share powertrains with the new Avenger. That means a 1.2-liter turbocharged mild-hybrid setup is almost guaranteed, with the possibility of all-wheel drive via an electrified rear axle. A fully electric version is also confirmed.
