Tesla Cybertruck Gets Faster Supercharging: 8% to 40% in Just 10 Minutes

The Tesla Cybertruck is equipped with a massive 123 kWh battery, which translates to impressive range but also long charging times. Early adopters quickly discovered that filling up from 0-100% could take over an hour. Now, Tesla’s latest update aims to cut that down significantly by enabling faster charging speeds at select Supercharger stations.

Tesla announced that certain V4 Superchargers can now deliver up to 325 kW to the Cybertruck. While the truck’s battery can theoretically handle up to 400 kW, current Superchargers don’t support that rate. Charging speeds also peak early in the session and taper off as the battery fills, so you won’t see 325 kW maintained throughout. Still, the increase is enough to noticeably reduce charging times.

For example, one Cybertruck owner in Blaine, Washington, reported going from 8% to 40% charge in just 10 minutes. After 35 minutes, their battery hit 80% charge. During the session, the charging speed peaked at 321 kW when the battery was at 14% before gradually slowing to 95 kW by the 80% mark. A similar session in Tacoma, Washington, yielded nearly identical results.

Currently, only 19 Supercharger locations in the U.S. offer this kind of speed, but Tesla plans to expand availability soon. Looking ahead to 2025, Tesla says that some V4 Superchargers will support up to 500 kW charging, making pit stops even quicker for future Cybertruck owners.
