Sex in a Car Can Bring Serious Legal Trouble in the U.S.

Getting frisky with your partner in the car? Make damn sure nobody can see you. And for the love of god don't do it while driving.
Spring time, yeah everyone's feeling the love. But getting too handsy in your car can seriously screw you over whether you're parked or moving.

Don't Get Distracted While Driving
Even just making out can be crazy distracting. Distraction leads to an accident? You're screwed. Big penalties.
Pretty much every state says you gotta have proper control of your vehicle. Distracted driving tickets usually run $20 to $500 for first-timers but can go way higher.
Hit someone because you were messing around with your partner? Criminal charges. Vehicular manslaughter varies state to state but we're talking one year to over 15 years in prison depending on how bad it is and if someone died or got messed up.
Parked Doesn't Mean Safe
Think pulling over makes it okay? Better be 100% sure nobody can see you. Sex in a parked car can get you slapped with public indecency, lewd conduct, obscene exposure if anyone spots you from anywhere public.
Not just cars either. Having sex in your own house counts too if neighbors can see through your window or you're going at it on the balcony.

Penalties all over the map:
- California: Indecent exposure, up to six months jail and $1,000 fine first time.
- Texas: Class B misdemeanor, 180 days jail and $2,000 fine max.
- New York: Public lewdness, Class B misdemeanor, three months jail.
- Florida: Lewd behavior, one year jail and $1,000 fine.
- Illinois: Class A misdemeanor, one year jail, fines up to $2,500.
Real cases prove cops don't mess around. 2019, Florida couple got busted having sex in their car at a Walmart parking lot. Middle of the day. Arrested, charged with lewd behavior. 2021, New Jersey couple same thing, parked car at a public beach, got caught, got charged.
So keep it PG on the roads. Save all that for home or a hotel where nobody's gonna see.
