Lucid Gravity X SUV Concept Shows Adventure-Ready Design And 450-Mile Range

Lucid is best known for building high-range EVs for the highway, but at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the company showed it has a wilder side. Meet the Gravity X, a tougher-looking take on the upcoming Gravity SUV that hints at off-road adventure, or at least makes you think it could handle it.
The concept comes with a lifted suspension, 21- and 22-inch wheels wrapped in chunky all-terrain tires, and a prominent skid plate with tow hooks integrated into the front bumper. The wheel arches wear protective cladding that flows into new side skirts and a reworked rear bumper. On the roof, integrated crossbars hold a box with extra LED lighting, adding both utility and drama.

Lucid dressed the Gravity X in a satin Astral Drift finish with brushed metal accents, a black roof, and the brand’s Stealth Appearance package. The hood features a topographic map of Big Sur and Death Valley, while the sill plates carry the geographic coordinates of Pebble Beach, which is a nod to its debut location. Inside, the upgrades are subtle but upscale, including premium leather seats with orange detailing, walnut wood trim, and a microsuede steering wheel.

Underneath, it’s still the Gravity Grand Touring. The dual-motor setup produces 828 horsepower from a massive 123 kWh battery, good for an EPA-estimated 450 miles of range and a 0–60 mph run in 3.4 seconds. That makes it one of the quickest “off-road SUVs” you’ll ever see, at least in concept form.

Lucid design chief Derek Jenkins calls the Gravity X a natural evolution of the brand’s SUV philosophy, showing how its technology could translate into more rugged adventures. Whether this leads to a production-ready model remains to be seen, but since the changes are relatively mild, there’s little reason Lucid couldn’t put something like this on the market to compete with Rivian’s R1S.

The Lucid Gravity X will be on display at Pebble Beach on August 17, standing out as one of the few electric SUVs at an event better known for priceless classics and exotic supercars.
