Kia PV5 Spielraum Is The Van Life Glow-Up We Didn’t Know We Needed

So Hyundai Motor Group pulled up to the Seoul Mobility Show in full force this year — and while Hyundai and Genesis showed off sleek updates and luxe vibes, Kia said, “You know what? Let’s just build a van for people who want to work, chill, and maybe host a fashion pop-up all in the same day.”
Enter the Kia PV5 Spielraum concepts. "Spielraum" is German for “play space,” which already tells you these aren’t your average vans. They're clearly built with digital nomads and creative types in mind — the kind of folks who are always on the move but still want their space to feel like them.

First up: the Spielraum Studio. This thing is basically a mobile showroom-meets-living room. Pop open the rear, and there’s shelving for products, a clothing rack, and even clear shoe displays — like, yeah, this van could double as your boutique if you felt like it.
Step inside, and it gets even cooler (and weirder, in the best way). There’s a smart mirror, a legit coffee machine, and a fridge. Yes, a fridge. There’s also a round chair for chilling and an LG Styler: that fancy steam cleaner for your clothes. The van even uses AI to track your schedule and suggest stuff like when to steam your jacket or when to hit the road. It's part vehicle, part assistant, part closet.

Then there’s the Spielraum Glow Cabin. This one’s less work, more play. It’s got a big wraparound couch, soft wall panels, and a full-on lounge vibe. Kia says it’s made for “car picnic experiences.” You can eat, drink, and vibe in here. There's a fridge, an oven, a tiny wine cellar, and what might be a stovetop.
All of this is the result of Kia teaming up with LG. They’re cooking up what they call “mobility space solutions,” which is a fancy way of saying they want to turn vans into personalized offices, hangout zones, or even mini homes. LG’s bringing the smart home tech, Kia’s bringing the cool ideas, and together they’re aiming to roll out something real by the second half of 2026.

No word yet on whether these vans will hit production, but if this is the future of van life? Count us in. Espresso machine, wine cellar, steam-cleaned clothes, and a couch you could nap on? Yeah, we could get used to that.
