Geely’s New Robotaxi Looks Like a Lounge That Drives Itself
by AutoExpert | 27 April, 2026
Geely, together with Afari Technology and CaoCao Mobility, just showed this new robotaxi called the EVA Cab in Beijing. And unlike most concepts, this one actually has a timeline. They’re aiming for real-world use in 2027.
It looks very different from a normal car. The front is sharp, almost like a shark nose, with high-mounted lights and a screen that can display messages. From the side, it’s more like a small MPV. Big windows, sliding doors, easy access. Built for people getting in and out all day.

Inside, it’s set up like a small lounge. Four seats facing each other, a big center console, and a lot of space. The front seats can fold away when not needed, which frees up legroom. There’s also a full glass roof and a screen that can slide out when you want it.
Geely didn’t show everything clearly, but they mentioned things like an AI assistant and more premium touches, including wood trim. So it’s not meant to feel like a basic taxi.

On the tech side, it’s pretty loaded. The goal is Level 4 autonomy, so it should handle most driving on its own. It uses a high-end LiDAR system that can scan up to 600 meters and process around 25.9 million points per second. There’s also a mix of NVIDIA and Qualcomm chips, with over 3,000 TOPS of computing power behind it.

A lot of those numbers are heavy, but the idea is simple. It sees far, thinks fast, and drives itself.
If it actually makes it to the road like this in 2027, getting around could feel very different.
