Xiaomi’s New YU7 SUV Packs Up To 681 Horsepower

Xiaomi’s back with a bang in the EV world, and this time it’s not just a sleek sedan. Say hello to the new Xiaomi YU7: a stylish, high-performance crossover that officially launches in China.
Following the buzz around the SU7, Xiaomi’s first SUV continues the momentum with a sharp, athletic look. Up front, you’ve got a bold “shark nose” design paired with unique waterdrop headlights that channel air up and out through the hood. That hood, by the way, holds the title for the largest aluminum clamshell on any mass-produced vehicle.

A lot of brainpower clearly went into the aerodynamics. Xiaomi says the YU7 features 10 airflow channels and 19 vent systems, all engineered to manage air with precision. Throw in active grille shutters, aero-optimized wheels, and a sleek silhouette, and you end up with a seriously low drag coefficient of just 0.245.
Design-wise, the YU7 checks all the right boxes: flush door handles, a massive panoramic glass roof, and striking taillights that form a halo at the rear. It even comes in bold color choices like Emerald Green, Titanium Silver, and Lava Orange, each paired with black trim for contrast.

Inside, things get even more impressive. The cabin is centered around a 16.1-inch infotainment screen and a 43.3-inch HyperVision Panoramic Display stretching across the dash, very much in line with what BMW’s been doing lately. You also get plush Nappa leather zero-gravity front seats with massage, and the rear seats recline too.

There are three versions of the Xiaomi YU7 on offer:
The base model packs a 316 hp single-motor setup with a solid 519-mile range (CLTC), hitting 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds.
Step up to the Pro, and you get dual motors, 489 hp, and 0-62 in 4.3 seconds, though range dips slightly to 472 miles.
Go all-in with the Max, and you’re looking at 681 hp, 0-62 in just 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 157 mph—plus a bigger battery offering up to 478 miles of range.

Charging isn’t an issue either. Xiaomi claims 10–80% juice in just 12 minutes, or up to 385 miles of range in just 15 minutes on a fast charger.
Under the skin, the YU7 is just as serious. A double-wishbone front and five-link rear suspension setup with air springs provides a comfy yet capable ride. You get 5 height settings and up to 8.7 inches of ground clearance, while the Brembo brakes add extra stopping confidence.

On the tech front, Xiaomi’s ADAS suite includes a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, 11 HD cameras, radar systems, and ultrasonic sensors to keep things safe and smart.
As for pricing? Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun didn’t confirm a number yet but hinted it’ll be pricier than a Tesla Model Y, which starts at 263,500 yuan (around $36,600). If the specs hold up, the YU7 could be one of the hottest new electric crossovers to watch.
