With electric vehicles (EVs) making waves in the automotive realm, VinFast's VF 3 EV has sparked a particular enthusiasm among U.S. dealers, keen on offering this compact yet budget-friendly electric marvel.

Initially crafted with the Vietnamese market in mind, the VF 3 is now inching closer to a potential U.S. debut, thanks to the persuasive allure of its sub-$20,000 price bracket.

VinFast, not resting on its laurels, is diligently nurturing relationships with U.S. dealerships, transitioning from an exclusive factory-direct sales model to a hybrid retail model, embracing franchised dealerships. "We are discussing with a majority of large, well-established dealers across the U.S.," says VinFast, with the burgeoning interest in the VF 3 EV acting as a catalyst in these dialogues.

The momentum doesn't stop there. VinFast orchestrated two engaging rendezvous with prospective U.S. dealers in October, showcasing a foam model of the VF 3 EV. The response? Overwhelmingly positive. VinFast advisor Duke Hale shared the collective enthusiasm, stating, "They really liked the VF 3 and the reason is it’s probably sub-$20,000." This price point, coupled with the potential eligibility for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit when leased, could see the VF 3's lease price plummet to an enticing $12,500, weaving affordability with eco-conscious driving.

Although compact with a length of just 122.5 inches, the VF 3 doesn’t compromise on space, comfortably accommodating five occupants. While the powertrain specifications remain under wraps, the curtain of anticipation rises as VinFast projects Vietnamese deliveries by the third quarter of 2024.

The VF 3 EV isn’t just a vehicle; it’s a testament to VinFast’s ambitions of carving a niche in the competitive EV market, with a price tag that’s as appealing as its compact, efficient design. As U.S. dealers exhibit a unanimous interest, the VF 3 EV is not just a vehicle on the horizon, but a promising chapter in VinFast’s expedition into the global EV narrative. With each passing day, the narrative of affordability entwined with sustainability continues to enthrall dealers and prospective buyers alike, setting a buoyant stage for VinFast’s foray into the U.S. EV market.
