Turbo Power And Manual Transmission – Both Available On 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback

The 2022 Honda Civic line-up keeps on growing, welcoming a hatchback to its family. The new model has some good similarities with the Civic sedan, yet it comes in a design that is way too predictable.

The hatchback comes with an angular liftgate and a spoiler integrated on the rear end. It comes with 5 doors, more elegant taillights, and a strip connecting them. The main differences between the Civic hatchback and sedan kind of stop here.

The drivers will find the familiar interior design, with 7- or 10.2-inch digital tools’ cluster and even an infotainment system, with a freestanding 7- or 9-inch display. The system is compatible both with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There are 60/40 split-folding rear seats, increasing the loading capacity. Also, the passengers in the back will get an extra 1.4-inch additional space for their legs.

The drivers will surely enjoy the Honda Sensing suite, including a set of driver assistance systems. It comes with upgraded software, a more powerful processor, and a wider field of view for the camera. There is also a more natural braking thanks to the Adaptive Cruise Control, while the Lane Keeping Assist system delivers more natural steering.

2022 Honda Civic hatchback comes with two different engines: the first version is a 158 hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder motor, delivering 138 lb-ft of torque, while the second comes with 180 hm delivered out of the 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, delivering 177 lb-ft of torque.

As for the transmission, the purists will find the option of a 6-speed manual transmission appealing. The more comfortable drivers will surely like the continuously variable transmission.

The hatchback comes with a stiffer structure, a revised steering system, and a retuned suspension. All these updates contribute to better maneuverability while reducing the vibration, sound, and harshness.

2022 Honda Civic Hatchback will be built in Greensburg, Indiana, USA, reaching sales in September this year. Although it isn’t official, the prices are expected to start at USD 20k. A new Civic Si is expected to join the line-up in October, with a Civic Type R following next year.
