Toyota Yaris ECOVan Is A Tiny Vehicle With A Lot Of Cargo Room

ECOVan edition of the 4th-gen Toyota Yaris debuted in Spain a year since the 4th-gen Toyota Yaris arrived in Europe as a hybrid light commercial vehicle with additional cargo capacity. Excluding the extra vinyl-covered back windows, the Yaris ECOVan appears similar to the Japanese supermini that has been selected European Car of the Year for 2021.

Within the interior, however, things are quite diverse, with the back seats removed, allowing for substantially more baggage room. As an outcome, Yaris ECOVan now has a load capacity of 720 liters, up from 286 liters in the passenger model. The 0.9 m3 flat floor boot is crafted of wood and coated with a sturdy, textured rubberized coating.

A safety divider grid and specific mounts for holding large and heavy goods are also available behind the seating. This Toyota Yaris can carry up to 430 kg of luggage, which is equal to many of its half-ton LCV competitors. While Yaris passenger variant is also available in Europe with 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter petrol engines, ECOVan is only available as a hybrid, enabling it to freely navigate around Madrid.

A three-cylinder 1.5-liter motor and an electric engine work together to produce 114 hp (85 kW / 116 PS) and 120 Nm of torque (88.5 lb-ft). An e-CVT automatic transmission generates power to the front wheels.

There are 2 trim levels options for Yaris ECOVan. Toyota Safety Sense ADAS systems, a 7-inch touchscreen for the navigation system, LED headlights, air conditioning, and 15-inch alloy wheels are all included on the standard Business Plus.

LED taillights, an 8-inch screen with a rear-view camera, smart entry and keyless go, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel come standard on the Active Tech. Yaris ECOVan is more expensive than the 5-seater Yaris, with the modification costing an extra €1,300 ($1,535) + VAT.

The LCV begins at €23,373 ($27,587) for the Business Plus variant and €24,498 ($28,915) for the Active Tech variant. Toyota Yaris ECOVan is now only available in Spain, although it will most likely be accessible in other EU countries in the nearish term.
