Toyota is taking a stylish step forward with its Crown Series in Japan, introducing a limited-production 'Matte Metal' edition that's turning heads and changing the game in automotive paint. The Toyota Crown Crossover Limited Matte Metal isn't just a regular car; it comes with a special paint that's not only stunning to look at but also a breeze to maintain.

Based on the high-spec Toyota Crown Crossover RS Advanced, the 'Limited Matte Metal' edition adds a distinctive touch to both the exterior and interior.

The most eye-catching feature is the Matte Metal finish, achieved through a unique surface treatment known as “TM Coat.” This innovative coating makes the matte paint more durable and stain-resistant, addressing the usual drawbacks of matte finishes.

The practicality of this special edition doesn't end with its paint job. It's designed to be more durable than typical matte finishes, requiring only annual recoating. This means you can even take your Crown Limited Matte Metal through a car wash without a worry. Its matte metal cladding and matte black 21-inch alloy wheels enhance its appeal, making it look better than ever.

Initially, the extra coating required for the Matte Metal paint wasn't warmly welcomed by Toyota's factory workers, as it added an extra hour to the production process. However, the prototype's cool appearance won everyone over, as reported by Car Watch Impress.

Inside, the car features a 'Black Lumish' theme with black leather, red stitching, and warm steel inserts on the dashboard. The attention to detail extends to a soft-padded material on the center console, door cards, and dashboard, complemented by discreet “Matte Metal” lettering. There's even a silver key and a stylish, recycled leather case for the manual.

Under the hood, this special edition houses a potent hybrid powertrain, boasting 345 hp and 542 Nm of torque, thanks to a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine and dual electric motors. All this power is managed by a six-speed automatic gearbox and Toyota's “E-Four Advanced” system.

Available exclusively at Toyota's new Crown-dedicated flagship dealerships in Japan, the Crown Crossover Limited Matte Metal starts at ¥7,500,000 ($51,410), a notch above the standard model's ¥6,400,000 ($43,945).

The production number is limited, making it a coveted item for car enthusiasts.
