The Zagato AGTZ Twin Tail: $700,000, 19 Units, And Unmatched Style

It’s been a year since Zagato dropped the bombshell with their $700,000 Alpine A110-based AGTZ Twin Tail, and now the first production model has shown up at the Rétromobile exhibition in Paris. Love it or hate the price, you can’t deny this car is seriously good-looking.
Only 19 units are being made worldwide, each one inspired by the 1969 Alpine A220. The design sticks to the original vibe, with a deep blue paint job, bright green highlights on the front bumper and side skirts, and the French flag’s colors on the roof and rear. Meanwhile, yellow trim adds a nice pop.
What’s even cooler is the rear bumper. This longtail design isn’t just for looks; it can be easily detached, giving the car a whole new feel when you want it. And the customization doesn’t stop there. Zagato’s designers totally reworked the body, adding their unique touches like custom headlights, a fresh front bumper, and a bold hood. There’s also a double-bubble roof, revamped door panels, and custom windows. And let’s not forget the aerodisc wheels, really driving home that retro-futuristic vibe.
The Zagato Alpine AGTZ keeps the 1.8-liter turbo four-cylinder engine from the standard A110, which also powers the Renault Megane RS. The stock version pushes out 300 horsepower, but Zagato offers a performance upgrade for more power—whether this one has it or not, who knows. Even without the extra punch, it can still go from 0 to 62 mph in under five seconds and reach 155 mph on the top end.
