The P24 RS: Donkervoort’s Next Supercar Breaks All The Rules
by AutoExpert | 17 March, 2025
Donkervoort is already turning its attention to the next chapter. The Dutch automaker is developing the P24 RS, a new supercar that will mark a major shift away from the Audi turbocharged engines the company has relied on for the past 25 years.
The name "P24 RS" holds personal significance for the Donkervoort family. The "P" honors Phébe, Denis Donkervoort’s second daughter, and the ‘24’ reflects her birth year. The "RS" draws inspiration from the 2006 D8 270 RS, which set a production car lap record at the Nürburgring. The F22 was named similarly, with its ‘F’ taken from Denis’s first daughter, Filippa.

Details on the P24 RS’s powertrain are scarce, but Denis Donkervoort has teased a "complete new innovation" that may be developed entirely in-house. Whatever the new engine may be, it’s expected to deliver even more power than the F22 Final Five, which pushed out 492 hp from its 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder.

As a reminder, the Donkervoort F22 Final Five tipped the scales at just 1,578 lbs, with a power-to-weight ratio of 698 hp/tonne, helping it hit 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds. The P24 RS is expected to push performance even further.

Donkervoort describes the P24 RS as a “sister car” to the F22, with its own unique character. The firm promises that both cars will be engineered for driver engagement, but the P24 RS aims to break new records and take customization and customer service to the next level.
