Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge Brings More Power And Darker Luxury

Rolls-Royce has been using the "Black Badge" name for its high-performance models since 2016, but never on an electric car—until now. The Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge takes the brand’s first EV and dials up the power, making it the most potent Rolls-Royce ever.

Ditching the traditional V12 for a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, the Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge version cranks out 659 horsepower and 792 lb-ft of torque—an increase of 82 hp and 128 lb-ft over the standard Spectre. That extra muscle cuts the 0-60 mph time down to 4.1 seconds.

To tap into its full potential, Rolls-Royce has added an "Infinity Mode" button on the steering wheel, which sharpens throttle response and tweaks the digital gauge cluster for a sportier look. There’s also a "Spirited Mode," acting as a launch control system for maximum acceleration.

Performance tweaks don’t stop there. The suspension has been adjusted to reduce squat under rapid acceleration and braking, while the steering is now heavier for better feedback. Roll stabilization has also been enhanced to keep the big coupe planted in corners.

Of course, more power comes at a cost—efficiency takes a hit. While the standard Spectre can travel 277 miles on a single charge, the Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge's 22-inch wheels limit its range to 266 miles. Opting for the larger 23-inch alloys reduces that figure further to 251 miles.

Visually, the Spectre Black Badge gets exclusive touches, including a new Vapor Violet paint option that can be paired with an Iced Black hood. You can also add a unique waft coachline to accentuate the coupe's sleek profile. The signature darkened trim of Black Badge models is here, along with an illuminated grille that, in some configurations, features a striking purple backdrop. Customers can also choose from Charles Blue, Chartreuse, Forge Yellow, and Turchese accents.

Inside, Rolls-Royce blends carbon fiber and metal with subtle wood finishes. The piano-black dashboard houses 5,500 illuminated stars, along with a glowing infinity symbol scattered throughout the cabin. Each panel undergoes six layers of lacquer before being hand-polished to perfection.

With a starting price of $490,000, the Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge commands a $67,250 premium over the standard model. But for those seeking the ultimate expression of electric luxury, Rolls-Royce is making sure it delivers.
