Opel’s GSE Line Starts With A Rally Monster

Opel is giving its electric GSE lineup a proper kick-off, and instead of debuting with a tame road car, they’ve gone all-in with a rally-ready SUV. Say hello to the Mokka GSE Rally, a fully electric, competition-spec version of the compact crossover built to take on the rough stuff.
Even before any production GSE model hits the road, Opel is making it clear they’re serious about performance. The Opel Mokka GSE Rally is designed for the FIA’s new eRally5 regulations and is set to replace the long-running Corsa Electric Rally car starting with the 2026 season.

Right from the first glance, you can tell this Opel Mokka GSE Rally means business. The livery mixes black, gray, and yellow graphics, and it sits on large alloy wheels paired with yellow brake calipers. It also gets a more aggressive look thanks to reworked bumpers and a functional roof scoop.

Powering the car is a single electric motor delivering 278 horsepower and 345 Nm of torque. It sends power to the front wheels through a multi-plate limited-slip differential and a racing transmission. Opel has stripped out things like ABS, traction control, and ESP to give drivers more raw control behind the wheel.

The chassis has also been beefed up with Bilstein rally suspension, reinforced front struts, and updated components for the solid rear axle. Inside, everything has been stripped out in favor of a full rally cage, two bucket seats with six-point harnesses, and all the necessary race hardware. For safety, the car features a 400-volt system that cuts off power in the event of a crash and an electrically safe fire suppression system.

Before it goes on sale to private teams in 2026, the Opel Mokka GSE Rally will make its debut at the ELE Rally Eindhoven in the Netherlands on May 23–24. It’ll share the stage with the current Corsa Electric Rally car, but all eyes will likely be on this new, more rugged electric contender.
