NSX Tensei - Old Soul, New Shape
by AutoExpert | 29 April, 2026
The NSX comeback from Pininfarina and JAS Motorsport was already one of those “wait, this is real?” moments last year. Now they’re showing a bit more of what they’ve been working on, and it’s starting to take shape.
They didn’t just restore the original. They reworked the proportions. Longer wheelbase, wider track, lower stance, bigger wheels. The rear overhang is shorter too, which tightens everything up visually. Once they set those basics, the design kind of fell into place on its own, according to the team.

From above, the shape leans into these sharp, triangular lines, especially around the rear. The widened shoulders and flared arches give it a much stronger stance than the original without losing that clean NSX feel.
Underneath, they stayed loyal to the formula. It’s still a naturally aspirated V6, built on the same architecture as the original engine, just pushed further in terms of power and response. And yes, it keeps a six-speed manual. That alone tells you what kind of car this is trying to be.

Inside is still a bit of a mystery. No photos yet, but the idea is clear. Keep the original driving position and visibility, then lift everything else. Better materials, custom details, more attention to how things feel. Hopefully they don’t overdo the screens and keep it analog where it matters.

There’s also some history behind this project. Pininfarina worked with Honda back in 1984 on the HP-X concept, which basically previewed the NSX years before it existed. So this isn’t a random collaboration, it kind of comes full circle.

Each car will be built by hand at JAS Motorsport near Milan, with custom options handled by Pininfarina in Turin. Full reveal is set for later in 2026, so price and production numbers are still unknown.
For now, it looks like they’re treating the NSX with the respect it deserves, just pushing it a bit further without losing what made it special in the first place.
