No Big Changes, Just City-Ready Vibes: Opel Rocks EV Refreshed For 2025

Opel is giving its tiny two-seater EV a small refresh for 2025, but don’t expect any big changes. The Opel Rocks, formerly known as the Rocks-e, gets a light cosmetic update and two new trims: Edition and GS.
While Citroën gave its sibling, the Ami, a full retro-inspired makeover, Opel chose to stick with the original look. Still, that gives each of Stellantis' micro EVs its own identity. The Rocks now sports a black Vizor grille, light grey body panels, LED headlights, and a cleaner design without the previous black graphics. There's also a new white Opel Blitz logo, but no wild features from the Rock E-Xtreme concept made it to production.

The quirky symmetrical design stays, along with doors that open in opposite directions. Inside, things are still basic—no fancy infotainment screen, just a smartphone holder and app-based controls. The interior drops the lime green trim for a simpler white and grey theme. You still get a USB port, manual side windows, clever storage, a panoramic roof, but no air conditioning.

Mechanically, nothing changes. The Opel Rocks still runs on an 8-hp electric motor powered by a 5.5 kWh battery, offering up to 75 km (47 miles) of range and a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph). Perfect for city streets—or teenagers, since it’s classified as a heavy quadricycle and can be driven by 15-year-olds in some countries.

The new Edition and sportier GS trims will debut closer to the market launch in Europe.
