New Face, New Attitude: The Hyundai Ioniq 6 Grows Up
by AutoExpert | 4 April, 2025
Hyundai just gave the Ioniq 6 a facelift, and honestly? It’s looking way cleaner, sleeker, and more modern than before. The refreshed EV made its debut at the Seoul Mobility Show, and it’s safe to say Hyundai took the styling seriously this time around.
Let’s start with the front—because that’s where the biggest changes hit. The nose looks more polished overall, but it’s also got a bit more edge, especially if you’re checking out the N Line version. Hyundai ditched those oddball lights from the previous model and swapped them for a slick new split-light setup.

Think slim LED daytime running lights up top, with the actual headlights tucked lower in the bumper. It’s a small change that makes a big impact on how the car comes across—way more refined and way less... quirky.
Now, if you want something that leans a little more aggressive, the Ioniq 6 N Line is where it’s at. It opens up the front grille big time and adds some serious attitude with massive air intakes—kind of reminds me of the Elantra N. Hyundai’s also throwing in a fresh rear bumper with more blacked-out trim and a set of bold silver-and-black wheels that definitely stand out.

Out back, the light bar across the rear is still there, but now there’s a proper ducktail spoiler that gives it a bit of a sporty kick. Hyundai also got rid of that little spoiler that used to sit awkwardly at the bottom of the rear window. The result? A way cleaner and more cohesive look. It just makes more sense now.
Simon Loasby, Hyundai’s head of design, summed it up like this: “IONIQ 6 has evolved from a single Electrified Streamliner into a lineup, each model expressing its own character while staying true to one refined vision,” Sounds fancy, but basically, they’ve cleaned up the design and made each version feel more intentional. The new design theme is called Pure Flow, Refined, and that vibe definitely comes through in the final product.

Inside, there are a few small tweaks worth mentioning. There’s a new three-spoke steering wheel, they moved the window switches, and they added some extra USB ports. Nothing huge, but a nice little quality-of-life update.

Hyundai also gave us a little teaser of something way more exciting—the upcoming Ioniq 6 N. Now that's something to get hyped about. It’s heavily inspired by the wild RN22e concept from a couple of years ago, and it’s expected to use the same dual-motor setup from the Ioniq 5 N. So we’re talking 641 hp, faux engine sounds, and a simulated eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Oh, and it’s officially dropping in July.
