Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross — A New SUV Hits The Market
by AllAutoExperts | 17 April, 2020
Eclipse's successor has been revealed a few days before its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross shares a lot of features with the XR-PHEV and XR-PHEV II concepts, unveiled back in 2013 and 2015.
Eclipse Cross can be perceived as a bigger Outlander Sport, with an SUV Coupe body style and the Dynamic Shield front end, with chrome strips and elegant headlights.

Looking at the car from one side, the muscular features can be easily noticed, with a prominent line at the door handles' level and roofline. The frontend is characterized by stretched LEDs, splitting the superior and inferior halves of the rear window.

Unlike the exterior similarities with Outlander Sport, the propulsion system is characterized by a new direct-injection 1.5-liter turbo engine, running on petrol, teamed with a newly developed CVT transmission. The performance figures haven't been made public yet, but we do know that the CVT can be ditched in favor of an 8-speed Sport Mode manual override. The car features 4WD and the AYC system, which distributes the torque and brake force evenly between the rear wheels, based on data collected from the rotation speed, brake force, and others.

If you are a diesel fan than you can choose the 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine, which has been recalibrated for the new Eclipse Cross. The unit comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

More details will become available next week when the model makes its debut in Geneva.
