The pre-season testing for the 2017 Formula 1 was last year and it proved that the cars are faster than last year. However, the McLaren F1 team has had some issues during the last week.
The problems with the engines began when the British team started reusing Honda engines in 2015. Even though Honda claims it has redesigned the engines completely for this season, McLaren still faced some problems during the testing.

McLaren team has used around five engines during those four days in Spain. Once the team uses more than four engines, they start receiving penalties.

The first day of testing needed a new engine as there was an oil tank issue. During the second day, McLaren MCL32 has used their third engine that stopped working after 29 laps. This made them use their forth engine. The fifth one was needed in the final two days.

According to a BBC report, the boss of Honda Formula 1, Yusuke Hasegawa, mentioned that this is the time when they need to work out all the problems. Despite all the issues, Honda still thinks they have a good relationship and they will fix everything through constructive dialogs.
