McLaren Celebrates F1 Victory With Exclusive MCL38 Edition Cars
by AutoExpert | 19 February, 2025
McLaren has long been one of Formula 1’s most successful teams, second only to Ferrari in overall achievements. However, the team had gone 26 years without a Constructors’ title—until last season.
Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri helped end that drought, pushing McLaren to the top of the standings and marking a surprising comeback after years of being stuck in the midfield while Mercedes and Red Bull dominated. To celebrate, McLaren has unveiled an ultra-limited edition of the Artura and the 750S, called the MCL38, named after its 2024 F1 car. McLaren will build only 18 units, evenly split between the two models.

Both cars feature a custom livery designed by McLaren Special Operations, blending the F1 team’s signature Papaya Orange with Anthracite. They also come with a Champions’ Laurel and Nine-Star logo, an orange stripe on the hood, and matching orange brake calipers. Inside, things are just as special, with a Visual Carbon Fiber Extended Sill Cover signed by Norris and Piastri, along with the Champions’ Laurel stitched into the headrests.

The nine 750S models get an extra touch—a dedication plaque with a genuine piece of carbon fiber bodywork from an actual MCL38 F1 car. Another plaque in the bonnet storage area lists the pole positions, race wins, and fastest laps recorded by McLaren during the 2024 season.

McLaren Automotive CEO Michael Leiters summed it up: “The relentless pursuit of excellence is intrinsic to the McLaren mindset, and in 2024 we demonstrated this with incredible success on both the track and the road. The achievements of Zak Brown, Andrea Stella, Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and the entire McLaren Racing team in winning the Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship are beyond inspirational—and what better way to mark this than with an ultra-exclusive Celebration Edition of our award-winning Artura and 750S.”

With major F1 regulation changes coming in 2026, most teams are focusing their resources on developing next year’s cars, meaning this season’s automobiles will mostly be refined versions of the 2024 models. Unless Ferrari, McLaren’s closest rival last year, or Red Bull—despite winning the Drivers’ title with Max Verstappen—find something extra, McLaren should once again be a serious contender for both championships.
