This One-Off Maserati MC20 Cielo Might Belong In A Museum, Not Just A Garage

Maserati’s been quietly upping its game when it comes to customization, and now they’re not being quiet about it at all. They’ve just pulled the covers off a one-off MC20 Cielo called “Less is More…?” at the Monte-Carlo Masters, and it’s basically proof that if you’ve got the imagination (and the budget), Maserati’s willing to go wherever your ideas take them.
This one’s been put together by their Officine Fuoriserie program—the brand’s increasingly wild personalization arm—and it’s a bit of an art piece, honestly. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement (yes, the same one from art school), it’s got sharp geometric patterns running across the hood and rear deck. Part gallery installation and part Italian supercar, and, somehow, it totally works.

The special Maserati MC20 Cielo wears a matte Blu Corse paint job, but it doesn’t stop there. There are dashes of yellow, red, white, and light blue thrown into the mix, and even a small patch of orange that’s actually a tribute to Maria Teresa De Filippis, who was the first woman to qualify for a Formula 1 Grand Prix. It’s a subtle but meaningful nod to Maserati’s history and the people who’ve shaped it.

Even the wheels get in on the action—each of the 20-inchers has a different colored center cap, sitting over blue brake calipers. It's playful without feeling gimmicky and still manages to look seriously cool. This version feels more like a collector’s item. One of those cars that looks just as right parked in an art museum as it would chasing the horizon along the Amalfi Coast.

It’s clear Maserati’s not just offering a few extra color swatches anymore: they’re inviting owners to make their cars really personal. If this is Maserati's future direction, we're ready to embrace it.
