Manhart Just Turned the M5 Touring Into an 897-HP Wagon Monster

The BMW M5 Touring already delivers strong numbers, with 717 hp and 738 lb ft of torque, but for Manhart, that still left room to push further.
About a year and a half ago, they pushed it to 789 hp. Now they go further with the MH5 900E.

This goes beyond a basic tune. Manhart fits upgraded turbochargers and revises the software. The result is 897 hp and 885 lb ft of torque, a noticeable jump for a car that was already fast.
The exhaust gets attention as well. It uses a valved stainless steel system with matte black tips, along with new downpipes. There is a catch, though. Those downpipes are not road legal in Germany, so they are limited to export markets.

Visually, it stays restrained. Manhart keeps the same approach as before, with small tweaks to the bumpers and gold accents, but nothing that changes the overall look.
Wheels are optional. Buyers can spec Manhart’s Concave One forged set in 21 or 22 inch sizes, with wider tire setups at both ends.

Weight still plays a role. The M5 Touring is not light, so more power does not solve everything. To counter that, Manhart offers H&R lowering springs or KW coilovers. These help with response, although coilovers can feel firm in daily driving. Even with the added power, the braking system stays the same.
