Lotus Just Named Its New Hybrid SUV 'For Me'

The Eletre is about to gain a plug-in hybrid variant for China, but Lotus has added an unexpected twist. Instead of keeping the same name, the SUV will debut there as the "Lotus For Me." Yes, that is really the official name.
Lotus describes the model as a hyper-SUV, built around a new X-Hybrid platform. The system combines a 900-volt electrical architecture with a large 70 kWh battery and two electric motors. Together, they produce 939 horsepower, which is actually a bit more than the fully electric Eletre R. There is also a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that steps in when the battery needs support.

Performance is exactly what you would expect from something with that much power. The SUV can reach 62 mph in about 3.3 seconds, hit 124 mph in 10.5 seconds, and run the quarter mile in around 11.16 seconds.
Range is where things get interesting. Lotus claims the For Me can travel about 260 miles purely on electricity and more than 870 miles when the hybrid system is working together. Official fuel consumption is listed at just 0.07 l/100 km under lab conditions, which sounds impressive on paper, though real-world results will probably look a bit different.

Charging is also impressively quick. The battery supports 6C charging, allowing it to jump from 30 to 80 percent in roughly eight minutes. Visually, the SUV looks almost identical to the regular Eletre. Aside from new badges, functional exhaust tips, and a few additional cooling openings at the front, most people would struggle to tell them apart.

Underneath, Lotus kept the same advanced chassis setup found in the electric model. That includes 48-volt active anti-roll bars, dual-chamber air suspension, and adaptive dampers. Despite the added hybrid hardware, weight stays close to the electric version, ranging from about 2,575 kg to 2,626 kg depending on the specification.

The For Me will go on sale in China later this month. Europe is expected to follow in mid-2026, with North America, the Middle East, and other regions arriving later in the year.
Its launch also introduces something Lotus calls Lotus Tuned Specification (LTS). This is a new engineering approach where Lotus works closely with suppliers to develop key components like brakes, stabilizer bars, and suspension together, aiming to keep the driving feel consistent across future models.
