When Hyundai decided to fund its N sub-brand, they had many projects on their mind but all the enthusiasts got was a limited lineup bringing on just a few cars - the i20 N, i 30 N, and Veloster N. Now, they decided to deliver something different due to their customers insisted demands. So, here we got an all-new Kona N - the first N crossover.

Since Hyundai introduced the Kona N as a “winning combination of versatility, spirited acceleration, agility, and racetrack readiness,” the good performances are ensured by the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that brings an output of 276 horsepower and 392 Newton-meters of torque. You can add an extra ten horsepower with the N Grin Shift function.

Coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, with numerous modifications for high-performance use. The engine offers a specially-tuned gear ratio and can reach 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 5.5 seconds when using Launch Control performance, along with a top speed of 149 mph (240 km/h).

The Kona N has N Grin Shift, N Power Shift, and N Track Sense Shift functions. These shifts were designed to maximize the performance of the crossover, torque during upshifts, and shift timing for sporty driving.  Other features include 19-inch forged wheels backed up by a high-performance braking system, an electronic limited-slip differential, a variable exhaust, a reinforced structure, and five driving modes known as Eco, Normal, Sport, N, and Custom.

Despite its N-exclusive Sonic Blue color, the exterior is an aggressive one featuring a unique grille and red accents, body-colored fender flares, sporty side skirts, and a front spoiler. Meanwhile, the back shows a triangular third brake light, a double-wing spoiler, along with an enormous dual exhaust system and N badging.

Hyundai made visible upgrades to the interior, giving an N-specific sport steering wheel, a head-up display, a digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch infotainment system with track maps and a lap timer. Alloy pedals and N-branded sport seats match the Hyundai style, with Performance Blue accents to match the exterior color. If you want more details about the Kona N crossover, you will have to wait until its official launch.
