Geigercars Gives Corvette C8 A Sporty Makeover With New Styling And Suspension

Corvette C8 is a formidable car, but that hasn't stopped GeigerCars from wanting to make it even better.

The firm has designed a new carbon fiber front splitter and rear spoiler, starting with the exterior. The goal was to generate sufficient downforce while causing as little drag as possible in order to obtain advantages for longitudinal dynamics and top speed, according to GeigerCars.

When it comes to aerodynamics, GeigerCars used an air duct in the front bumper to reduce drag. It increases the effectiveness of airflow below the car, which “results in a stronger contact pressure at the front,” according to the company.

Finally, OZ Racing wheels, including 19- and 20-inch Ultraleggera ones, are available from the tuning company. The Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slick tires are 44 lbs (20 kg) lighter than the factory wheels.

Customers can purchase an adjustable coilover suspension designed in collaboration with KW for enhanced performance. The firms are also working on a club sports suspension with sportier spring and damper characteristics that should appeal to track day fans. Stainless steel chassis struts, which promise to improve torsional rigidity and stability, are also provided.

Additionally, steel-flex lines and sport brake linings are among the brake improvements available. A track braking system with six-piston calipers, two-piece discs, and steel-flex lines is also offered by AP Racing.

The engine, a 6.2-liter V8 with 495-hp (369 kW / 502 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque, has remained unchanged. The basic Z51 can go from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 2.9 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 121 mph (195 km/h).
