Geely Panda Knight - Question Of The Fall: Roughness Or Cuteness

Geely's sub-brand, Geometry, is shaking up the urban EV market with the introduction of the Panda Knight. This vehicle takes the standard Geely Panda and gives it an off-road makeover, infusing it with the spirit of larger vehicles like the Ford Bronco.

A New Look, A Rugged Attitude

While the Panda Knight retains the round LED headlights of the standard model, they are now integrated into a faux grille made of unpainted plastic, matching the rugged off-road bumpers and wider fender extensions. The lime green paint job makes various features such as recovery points and roof rails stand out. A new five-spoke alloy wheel design adds to the fresh appearance, though the wheels maintain their petite dimensions.

Size and Space

Although the Knight has a more extensive footprint than its predecessor—being longer, taller, and wider—it remains a micro car, measuring just 123.4 inches long, 61.6 inches wide, and 65.2 inches tall. But don't let its small size fool you; the Panda Knight can comfortably seat four passengers and offer up to 800 liters of storage space when the rear seats are folded.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Panda Knight is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen and comes in new color combinations inspired by nature. Standard features like air conditioning ensure a comfortable ride for its passengers.

Performance

The Panda Knight is powered by the most potent electric motor in Geometry's urban EV lineup. The motor generates 40 HP and 81.1 lb-ft of torque. It's equipped with a 17.03 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, good for an electric range of 124 miles as per CLTC protocols.

Price and Availability

Set to launch in the domestic market in early September, the Panda Knight is priced between $5,470 and $7,800, slightly more expensive than the standard Panda. Its main competition is the Baojun Yep from SAIC-GM, which is a slightly larger vehicle but in the same market segment.
