Geely Galaxy A7 Promises 1,300 Miles Of Range Without Going Full EV

Geely’s latest addition to its electrified Galaxy family is the new A7, an amazing plug-in hybrid sedan that seems focused on one thing: range. Geely claims it can go over about 1,300 miles on a full tank and charge—impressive for a car that doesn’t need to plug in every day.
The magic behind that range is the NordThor hybrid system, pairing a 1.5-liter gas engine with an electric motor. It’s the same setup found in other Galaxy models like the Starship 7 SUV and the larger Star 8 sedan.

At 4,918 mm long, the A7 is almost exactly Camry-sized, with a wheelbase that promises solid cabin space. It’s a bit more compact than the Star 8 but still firmly in mid-size territory.

Design-wise, the Geely Galaxy A7 plays it cool. The body is sleek but familiar, with chrome accents, a full-width LED light bar up front, and BYD-style taillights out back. It’s not shouting for attention, but it’s definitely not dull either.

Step inside, and things feel a notch above what the price might suggest. There’s a large floating infotainment screen, a clean digital gauge cluster, and some nice touches like wood-look trim and light-colored upholstery. Geely has even included physical buttons and a rotary dial—something a lot of brands are abandoning.

Starting at around ¥100,000 (roughly $13,900), the Geely Galaxy A7 is aimed squarely at buyers who want hybrid efficiency without making the leap to full electric. Moreover, with gas-sipping numbers like 2 liters per 100 km (117 MPG), it's hard to argue with the value. The A7 hits the Chinese market later this year.
