Future EVs 2024-2026: What to Expect
by AutoExpert | 10 April, 2025
EV fans have a lot to look forward to in the next couple years. While there's already some cool stuff on the market - from sporty rides like the Lotus Emeya to family-haulers like the Kia EV9 - the upcoming models might be even more exciting.
Arriving This Year (2025)
Several luxury brands are going all-in on electric. Alfa Romeo is finally modernizing the Giulia sedan with an EV version, while Audi's rolling out both the Q6 E-Tron crossover and A6 E-Tron sedan on their fancy new electric platform.
Cadillac's expanding their "iq" lineup like crazy. The massive Escalade IQ brings 750 horsepower to the luxury SUV game, while the compact Optiq offers around 300 miles of range with three years of hands-free driving included. There's also a three-row Vistiq slotting between them.

Muscle car fans won't be disappointed either. Dodge is ditching the HEMI V8 for "eMuscle" with the Charger Daytona EV, offering up to 670 horsepower in the Scat Pack version.

Need something more practical? GMC's Sierra EV truck brings 754 horsepower and 440 miles of range, while Jeep's launching both the sporty Wagoneer S and the Wrangler-inspired Recon. Hyundai's finally getting around to releasing its own version of the popular Kia EV9, likely called the Ioniq 9.

For the luxury crowd, Lucid's Gravity SUV promises up to 440 miles of range, while Porsche is electrifying both the Macan crossover and the 718 sports car. Range Rover's first EV will maintain the classic look while adding 800V fast-charging tech.

VW's nostalgia play, the ID. Buzz microbus, is finally hitting American shores, and both Volvo's tiny EX30 and three-row EX90 should be arriving soon.

Looking Further Ahead (2026+)
BMW's iconic 3 Series is going electric on an all-new platform, possibly including a quad-motor M version. The Chevy Bolt is making a comeback with improved battery tech, and Ford's working on a dedicated electric truck platform.

The most exciting developments might be coming from Rivian, which is launching both the R2 compact SUV ($45,000) and the smaller, rally-inspired R3 (under $40,000), with a more rugged R3X version for adventure seekers.

Polestar's expanding upmarket with the 800+ horsepower Polestar 5 sedan and the gorgeous Polestar 6 convertible. Porsche is breaking new ground with its first-ever three-row vehicle, and Toyota's working on an electric Highlander competitor to take on the EV9.

With this many options hitting the market, anyone holding off on going electric might finally find what they've been waiting for.
