The Ford Puma Gen-E brings fresh energy to the sub-compact EV market, blending familiar looks with modern electric performance. It takes everything people love about the Puma and reinvents it for the electric age, offering practicality, style, and just enough punch to keep things fun.

The Puma Gen-E packs a 166 hp electric motor delivering 214 lb-ft of torque. It’s quick enough to feel lively around town, hitting 0-62 mph in 8 seconds. Its 43 kWh battery gives up to 234 miles of range, which is very competitive.

And when you need to top up, 100 kW fast-charging capability gets you from 10-80% in just 23 minutes—perfect for a quick coffee break. The Puma Gen-E doesn’t stray far from its familiar design roots, but there are some subtle EV-specific touches.

For improved aerodynamics, the Puma Gen-E now closes off the grille, and the front bumper adopts sleek cues from the Mustang Mach-E. Unique alloy wheels and a slightly tweaked spoiler round out the changes. Inside, the extra space freed up by the electric drivetrain really shines.

There’s a generous 574-liter boot, a useful 43-liter frunk for cables or groceries, and an upgraded Gigabox under the floor for more storage flexibility. Ford’s thoughtfulness extends to the cabin, too.

A raised center console adds handy storage where the gear lever would be, and digital screens—a 12.8-inch instrument cluster and a 12-inch touchscreen—bring a tech-forward feel without being overwhelming. It’s practical but with a dash of premium.

Starting at €36,900, the Puma Gen-E is Ford’s most affordable EV in Europe. It’s priced to attract buyers looking to go electric without breaking the bank. For comparison, the gas-powered Puma starts at €28,900, while the performance-oriented hybrid Puma ST hits €40,600. The Puma Gen-E enters a tough segment, facing rivals like the Jeep Avenger, Peugeot E-2008, and Mini Aceman. Production is already underway in Romania, with the first deliveries expected in spring 2025.
