Ford Built a Bronco for People Who Actually Use Their Camping Gear
by AutoExpert | 4 June, 2026
Ford and Filson have teamed up to build a Bronco that feels aimed less at hardcore rock crawlers and more at people who genuinely spend weekends outdoors. The Bronco Filson mixes the SUV’s usual off-road hardware with heavier-duty materials and a cabin designed to age the same way a good leather jacket or old boots do.
You can spot it pretty quickly thanks to the exclusive styling details. There’s a unique grille, body-colored fender flares, matching mirror caps, and a branded spare wheel cover. Ford also added special tie-down points near the trail sights for carrying longer gear like fishing rods, skis, or camping equipment. Colors include Field Green Metallic, Marsh Gray, Desert Sand, and Shadow Black, while the limited First Edition gets its own Iron Sands Copper Metallic finish.

Inside is where the Filson influence really shows up. The seats combine perforated leather with woven fabric inserts, while brass accents appear across the dashboard and steering wheel. One of the cooler ideas is the removable magnetic saddlebags built into the doors, along with optional cargo bags made from water- and dirt-resistant materials. The whole cabin feels more like expensive outdoor gear than a luxury SUV trying too hard to look rugged.

Ford also spent time improving refinement, claiming the Bronco Filson has the quietest cabin of any Bronco so far. Wind noise is said to be reduced by around 20 percent compared to a 2021 model, thanks to better seals, revised airflow, and acoustic glass. Equipment is generous too, including a 12-inch touchscreen, upgraded B&O audio system, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and power running boards.

Under the hood sits a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 related to the Bronco Raptor’s engine, paired with a 10-speed automatic and full-time four-wheel drive. While Ford hasn’t confirmed output, the Raptor version makes 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque.

Every Bronco Filson also comes standard with the Sasquatch package, meaning locking differentials, Fox shocks, 35-inch tires, beadlock wheels, and all the usual G.O.A.T. drive modes are included from the start. Pricing is expected to land somewhere in the mid-$70,000 range when it arrives in early 2027.
