First Look Interior & Exterior of the 2022 Porsche Macan GTS

Porsche has updated its popular Macan SUV, giving all models a performance increase. However, because of how well Porsche got the look of the original car back in 2014, you may need to compare the old and new cars side-by-side to tell the difference.

Since Porsche hasn't revealed anything about the future Macan EV, which will be built on a completely new electric vehicle platform, or the 2022 Turbo, the sporty GTS remains the star of the show for the time being. Its twin-turbo 2.9 V6 gains an astonishing 60 hp over the previous model.

It can reach 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, 0.4 seconds faster than previously, due to its 434 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. With a top speed of 169 mph, the GTS is 7 mph faster than the previous version, and even 2 mph faster than the original Turbo, which had 434 hp. What do you think the new one will be like?

When coupled with the optional Sport Chrono option, the mid-range Macan S gains 375 hp and 383 lb-ft V6 from last year's GTS, lowering the 60 mph time by half a second to 4.4 seconds.

When Porsche began giving out the power-ups, even the basic car wasn't left out. Its 2.0-liter turbo-four gains a boost from 248 to 261 hp, as well as a torque increase from 22 lb-ft to 295 lb-ft. That's good enough to save 0.3 seconds off the time from 0-60 mph (96 km/h), which drops to 5.8 seconds with Sport Chrono.

However, all of this extra fad isn't free. The faster 2022 Macans are $2,800-$7,800 more expensive than the models they displace. As of now, the GTS is the fastest of all, and it's marketed as the Macan's driver's car, with 21-inch gloss black RS Spyder wheels and adjustable air suspension that's 15% firmer than previously.

Porsche Surface Coated brakes and red calipers are visible through the wheels, while black tailpipes, clear LED taillights, and Sport Style side skirts complete the design.

The additional GTS Sport Package includes the Sport Chrono Package, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, 18-way flexible sports seats, and different elements of carbon fiber trim.

The most noticeable visual changes are to the rear, where the black diffuser area has grown in height and now spans the entire width of the bumper. LED headlights and Sport Design mirrors are now basic, while the standard wheels have grown in size. There are 7 new wheel styles and 14 new colors in all. A special low front bumper look and slightly adjusted daytime adaptive lights are among the outside changes, whereas the side blade running down the bottom of the doors has a 3D textured surface.

Indoors, 2022 Porsche Macan GTS includes a revised center console based on Taycan that has haptic touch features, an extra storage area, and a shorter gear-lever, as well as a cleaner appearance. Porsche also provides new GT Sport steering wheels based on the 911, as well as new interior option kits in Papaya, Gentian Blue, and Chalk with varied embroidery.

In Europe, deliveries begin in October, with UK cars following shortly after, and U.S deliveries starting next year. All models have AWD and Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, as well as a 10.9-inch touchscreen with navigation and Apple CarPlay. Lane Departure Warning and front and rear Park Assist are also standard. Porsche still has extras like Lane Keeping Assist, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring, which are now considered standard on a premium vehicle.
