Facelifted Nissan Teana Debuts Darker Lights, Wider Grille, And LED Light Bar

The Nissan Altima might be on shaky ground in North America, but its Chinese twin, the Nissan Teana, is sticking around. Built through Nissan’s joint venture with Dongfeng, the Teana is about to get a mid-cycle refresh, and leaked images from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology give us a clear look.
Up front, the Nissan Teana adopts a sharper, more modern face. The LED headlights are now darker and flank a wider grille with integrated daytime running lights and a cleaner pattern. The bumper’s lower intake has grown in size, while fresh alloy wheel designs add a bit more polish.

Around back, there’s a sleeker tail with a darkened, full-width LED light bar and illuminated Nissan lettering across the center. Meanwhile, the tailgate and bumper have been smoothed out for a tidier look. Inside, changes are expected to include a redesigned dashboard, a fully digital cockpit, and upgraded tech.

The range-topper still packs a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 240 hp, paired with Nissan’s Xtronic CVT featuring eight simulated gears. Interestingly, filings also mention a new entry-level engine rated at just 142 hp—even less than the current naturally aspirated 2.0-liter’s 154 hp. Nissan hasn’t explained the drop yet.

The updated 2026 Nissan Teana should arrive in Chinese showrooms later this year. For reference, the current model sells for between ¥179,800 ($25,000) and ¥239,800 ($33,400).
