887 horsepower and 1,275 Nm, the acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of about 340 kmph - these figures are included in the datasheet of the new Porsche 918 Spyder, making it the most powerful Porsche of all times, even if we take into consideration that it will come into production only in a few months.

Unlike its direct rivals such as Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1, set in motion by a gasoline propeller joined by an electric motor that acts like the KERS system from Formula 1, the new Porsche 918 Spyder represents a plug-in hybrid classically car, which get the performance from a combination of the V8 propeller aspirated with two electric motors.

The V8 propeller is one aspirated with a cylinder capacity of 4.6 liters, capable of delivering 608 horsepower, which means that the successor of the legendary Carrera GT can boasts with the most aspirated powerful propeller in the German manufacturer history, the result being a maximum power of approximately 132 HP per liter.

And as recent times increasingly forcing car manufacturers to become more responsible towards the environment, the engineers at Porsche have joined to the petrol motorization and two electric motors, one of which is mounted on the front axle, which offers about 130 horsepower, and the other is mounted on the rear axle, which offers about 156 horsepower. Thus, depending on the driving mode selected, the maximal values available from the Stuttgart Supercar can reach up to 887 horsepower and 1,275 Nm.

In terms of the performance chapter, the future Porsche 918 Spyder also impresses us with the time of acceleration from 0 to 200 kmph equal to 7.9 seconds, and with an acceleration from 0 to 300 kmph in about 23 seconds. At first glance, it's not just as amazing as are the figures, provided by Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1, but the fact is that the German manufacturer Hypercar weighs about 1,700 kilograms, that is at least an extra 300 kilograms compared to its rivals.

As I said at the beginning, the new Porsche 918 Spyder represents a plug-in hybrid classic car (hence such a difference of its mass comparative with its rivals), which means that it can operate in all-electric mode. In this case, the autonomy is only 30 kilometers, the acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph takes about seven seconds and the maximum speed will not pass the 150 kmph.

And if the above is not enough, worth to mention also, that the new Porsche 918 Spyder impresses because of its active aerodynamic elements, both sockets located on the front spoiler and the aileron for the engine bonnet, respectively the "wings" mounted at rare floor level with three different positions, which automatically are adjusted depending on the driving style of the driver.

In addition, for those who dream for much more performance, the Porsche offers a package Weissach, which promises a weight loss of up to 35 kilograms - in this case, the removable ceiling will be made of carbon fiber, like the rearview mirrors and the aileron for the engine bonnet. In addition, the rims will be made from magnesium and a special foil will replace the exterior paint.

Remains for us just to mention that the new Porsche 918 Spyder boasts with a technology, which allows the turnability of all four wheels, whilst the wheel drive system, the PDK box with seven reports, adjustable suspension PASM and carbon-ceramic brakes complete the list with technical savours.
