Chery Unveils Hunting Wild Concept With Cutting-Edge Solid-State Battery Tech

Chery’s new concept, the Hunting Wild, is a bold look into the future of their Fulwin lineup, blending sleek, aerodynamic lines that seem to hover between a wagon and a minivan, all while promising cutting-edge solid-state battery technology.

If it’s anything like the teaser suggests, this concept could redefine what we expect from electrified vehicles. The Hunting Wild stretches to 5,053 mm in length, about the size of a BMW i5 Touring, but with a wider stance and a wheelbase that practically screams luxury limo—a full 3,100 mm.

At first glance, the Chery Hunting Wild concept is undeniably futuristic, even if some design elements feel like they’ve been borrowed from elsewhere. Up front, the Hunting Wild features a dark trim piece that pulls together split-LED headlights, a glowing Chery emblem, and ADAS sensors, giving it a high-tech yet approachable face.

Sculpted cooling intakes flank the active grille below, and the wheels—21 inches up front and 22 inches in back—appear to belong on a vehicle far sportier than a concept car. The concept car's sleek silhouette is further enhanced by frameless windows and door handles that seamlessly blend into the body, while the large rear wing conveys a sense of seriousness. Fulwin logos show up in the headlights, on the wheels, and across the full-width LED taillights, reinforcing its identity.

While Chery hasn’t shown us the interior yet, the spec list hints at something luxurious and packed with tech. Picture a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, voice controls powered by AI, a rich 23-speaker sound system, and rear seats that recline with built-in leg rests—pure comfort. The icing on the cake? The panoramic roof integrates a color-changing dome skylight, reminiscent of a scene from a sci-fi movie. But it’s the battery that really has everyone talking.

Chery Hunting Wild

The Hunting Wild is equipped with an 800V solid-state battery—technology that promises better range and efficiency than anything we’ve seen so far in the EV world. Despite the ongoing development of solid-state batteries, Chery has set production targets for 2026, positioning this vehicle as a technologically advanced vehicle. The concept also features dual-chamber air suspension, Brembo brakes, and four-wheel steering, making it an electric vehicle that combines comfort and performance.

Chery Hunting Wild

The Chery Hunting Wild will make its debut at the 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show on November 15. While we’ll have to wait a bit for it to hit the streets—likely around 2026—it’s clear that Chery Hunting Wild is more than just a concept. It’s a statement of where Chery is headed, and it’s a ride we’ll be keeping an eye on.
