BMW has confirmed that its new M2 Racing model will officially compete in the upcoming 24 Hours of Nürburgring, set to take place June 21–22. This endurance race will serve as the final real-world test for the car ahead of its commercial debut in 2026.
Targeted at private racing teams and dedicated motorsport enthusiasts, the BMW M2 Racing is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine pushing out 313 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed ZF automatic gearbox, fine-tuned with custom software developed by BMW M Motorsport.
Built for the track, the new BMW M2 Racing comes with a full suite of race-ready hardware, including a high-performance M braking system, motorsport-tuned suspension, and a fully FIA-homologated roll cage for enhanced safety. BMW says the M2 Racing is capable of reaching a top speed of 270 km/h, making it more than ready for serious circuit action.
Starting at 98,000 euros, the M2 Racing offers a more accessible entry point into professional-grade racing, bridging the gap between amateur track cars and full-blown GT3 machines. With this model, BMW is clearly betting on the growing interest in customer racing and track-day performance.
