BMW Drops Base XM, Goes All-In On 738-HP XM Label For 2026

BMW is shaking up the XM lineup for 2026. The base model is gone, leaving only the high-performance XM Label with 738 horsepower. Along with faster charging for the hybrid system, BMW has added fresh paint colors, new interior themes, and some subtle design updates.
Power still comes from a twin-turbo V8 and an electric motor that together deliver 738 lb-ft of torque. The 0-60 mph sprint takes just 3.6 seconds, and top speed is 155 mph, or 175 mph if you check the M Driver’s Package box.

Unlike the 2025 version, the 2026 BMW XM Label drops the bold red exterior accents. In their place are new color options, including the icy-looking Frozen Tanzanite Blue. Standard 23-inch wheels can now be finished in black, or you can go for the no-cost 22-inch option.

Inside, the German carmaker is offering three new interior setups, with rich leather finishes in shades like Night Blue with Vintage Coffee or Silverstone with black accents. All use premium Merino leather.

Under the floor, the same 19.2-kWh battery delivers up to 30 miles of electric-only range. The big upgrade is a faster onboard charger—now 11 kW instead of 7.4—which should cut charging time, though BMW hasn’t said by how much.

The updated 2026 BMW XM Label will be unveiled at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 14, and production begins in August at BMW’s South Carolina plant. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but expect a slight bump from last year’s $187,875 starting price.
