Automobili Mignatta Rina Is A 500-HP Carbon Barchetta Built For Purists

A small town in northern Italy has introduced a new name that is already drawing attention. Automobili Mignatta, a Valfenera-based company, recently unveiled the Rina, a crazy-looking vintage roadster.
The Rina appears to have been transported back in time to the 1960s and is a barchetta with no roof, no windshield, and no frills. However, don't let the retro vibe fool you. It is built using contemporary technology, including a single-piece carbon body and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. It has a lot of visible carbon both inside and out, and it is incredibly lightweight and aggressive.

At the front, the Automobili Mignatta Rina rocks almond-shaped headlights. The back is just as cool, with round LED taillights, a small ducktail spoiler, and four chunky exhaust tips. It also sits on staggered wheels—19-inch up front, 20-inch at the rear—which adds to the whole race-ready vibe.

It gets even more intriguing under the hood. Italtecnica Engineering tuned a naturally aspirated V8 engine that was taken from the Ford Mustang. Although the company hasn't released precise specifications yet, we're talking about 500 horsepower based on the car's dry weight of about 1,000 kg and the power-to-weight ratio of 2 kg per PS.

The setup is all about old-school driving fun: front-engine, rear-wheel drive, six-speed manual, rear transaxle, and a limited-slip diff. It also has adjustable suspension and Brembo brakes, with an optional upgrade to carbon ceramic discs if you’re planning to track it.

It's not cheap, but it's simple inside. There are only a few retro accents and carbon all over the place. According to Automobili Mignatta, they will only hand-build 30 of these each year. Before taxes, the cost will be €290,000, or roughly $322,000. First deliveries are expected in 2026.
