The 2026 Audi A6 PHEV Gets 20.7 kWh Battery, 362 HP Option, And Premium Comfort Tweaks

Audi’s giving the A6 lineup a serious plug-in hybrid upgrade in Europe—both the sedan and wagon (Avant) now come with more range, better tech, and a quieter ride.

First of all, the biggest improvement is a much larger battery—20.7 kWh, which is about 45% bigger than before. That means you can drive up to 66 miles (106 km) on electricity alone, or up to 69 miles (111 km) if you’re mostly sticking to city streets.

However, the electric top speed is capped at 87 mph (140 km/h). With the engine on, it’ll go all the way up to 155 mph (250 km/h).

Future owners will get two versions to choose from: one with 295 horsepower and the other with 362 hp. These are closely related to the new A5 plug-in hybrids and share the same platform.

The base model hits 0–62 mph in 6.0 seconds, while the more powerful one cuts that to 5.3 seconds. If that’s still not quick enough, there’s a mild-hybrid V6 version that does it in 4.7 seconds. Of course, the S6 and RS6 are still on the way.

Charging is quicker now too. With the updated 11 kW onboard charger, you can go from empty to full in about 2.5 hours. Both versions come with all-wheel drive, rear-wheel steering, a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and a 141-hp electric motor tucked into the transmission housing.

Audi’s also worked on making the A6 feel more refined. There’s more sound insulation, better window seals, acoustic glass in the back, and even foam in the tires (on cars with 19-inch wheels or larger) to cut road noise. They’ve even fine-tuned the engine mounts and transmission to make everything run quieter.

Pricing in Germany starts at €65,800 for the base Audi A6 sedan and €68,300 for the stronger version. If you want the Avant (the wagon), prices begin at €75,050 and go up to €77,550.

Overall, this updated Audi A6 PHEV is more efficient, more comfortable, and better to drive. Plus, it can actually do some real miles on electric power alone. Not bad for a family car with some serious brains.
