A $170K Mustang? The Dark Horse SC Might Be
by AutoExpert | 9 March, 2026
When Ford revealed the Mustang Dark Horse SC, it immediately looked like the most extreme version of the S650 Mustang yet. The one thing Ford did not share at the time was the price, leaving many wondering how expensive this new flagship would be.
The only number anyone had came from the VIN 001 car that sold for $1.25 million at a Barrett-Jackson charity auction. That price was obviously a one-off situation, so it did not really help anyone guess the real sticker. Charity auctions tend to get a little wild anyway, with people throwing money around as if it grows on trees.

Now a leaked dealer pricing sheet is giving us a rough idea. According to the document making the rounds online, the Dark Horse SC Coupe could start at around $103,490. Choosing the Track Pack reportedly raises that to $139,990, while the Track Pack Special Edition climbs to about $170,970, plus a $1,995 destination charge.
The figures reportedly come from a dealer memo that later appeared online through Kelly Aiken of KellTrac. Still, until Ford confirms them, it is worth taking the numbers with a bit of caution since prices can change before production begins.

Even so, if these figures are accurate, the Dark Horse SC would be noticeably more expensive than the previous flagship Mustang. The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 started at roughly $80,000 when it launched. Even adjusting that for inflation only brings it to about $88,000 today.
That difference suggests Ford may be positioning the Dark Horse SC higher than past Mustangs. Between the power and the price, this Mustang is clearly playing in a different league now.
