91 Units, 850 HP—Hennessey Super Venom Mustang Is Pure Insanity

The Mustang tuner wars are in full swing, and Hennessey just threw down the gauntlet with the Super Venom. Hot on the heels of the Shelby GT350, this beast cranks out even more power and backs it up with a full aero overhaul.
Under the hood, Hennessey takes Ford’s 5.0-liter Coyote V8 and dials it up to 11. Upgraded fuel injectors, a new engine management system, a high-performance supercharger, a high-flow intake, and a beefier fuel pump all work together to unleash 850 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.

That’s a serious jump over stock, dropping the 0-60 mph time to just 3.2 seconds and sending it down the quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds at 133 mph. For context, that’s half a second quicker to 60 mph and a 14.6-mph higher trap speed than a stock Mustang Dark Horse with an automatic.

But Hennessey didn’t stop at just making it fast—they also made it look the part. The VenomAero carbon fiber kit adds a new front splitter, a hood vent, functional fender louvers, extended side skirts, an aggressive rear deck lid with an integrated spoiler, and a fixed rear wing. All of it is functional, improving grip and handling for hard driving on both road and track. Carbon fiber mirror caps and lightweight 20-inch wheels round out the exterior, alongside Hennessey badging and a choice of black, silver, or red livery packages.

Inside, things stay subtle but refined. Leather and Alcantara seats feature embossed backrests, plus special floor mats and an individually numbered dash plaque to remind you just how rare this machine is.

Customers can spec the Super Venom on either a Mustang GT or a Dark Horse, with the option of a six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic. Hennessey is only building 91 units, with prices starting at $149,950 for the GT and $163,950 for the Dark Horse—including the base Mustang. For a street-legal muscle car that’s knocking on supercar performance levels, that’s one wild package.
