2027 Ram TRX Returns With 777 HP And The SRT Badge
by AutoExpert | 2 January, 2026
The TRX is back, and Ram wants everyone to know that. After a short break, the famous pickup returns for 2027 with more power, more attitude, and the official comeback of the SRT badge. This is the first Ram truck to wear the SRT name since the legendary SRT-10 of the mid-2000s, and Ram is clearly out to make a statement.
At the center of the new TRX is a heavily reworked version of the familiar supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8. Ram could have reused the old setup and called it a day, but that wasn’t enough. Instead, engineers went back to work and came up with a new configuration that now delivers 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque.

That’s a noticeable step up from the previous TRX Final Edition and comfortably ahead of Ford’s F-150 Raptor R. In other words, the TRX is once again sitting at the top of the power chart.
Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis has been upfront about the thinking behind it. The brand could have rushed the TRX back onto the market, but the goal was to push the truck further than before. The engine now uses a 2.4-liter twin-screw supercharger and a dual-path intake that pulls in cool air from both the grille and the hood scoop. The result is better airflow, stronger performance, and improved durability when the truck is being pushed hard.

That power goes through a strengthened eight-speed automatic transmission with full manual control, paired with a full-time four-wheel-drive system. Drivers get multiple drive modes, including Baja, Mud, Snow, Tow, and Sport, making the TRX just as comfortable blasting across sand as it is cruising on the highway. Performance numbers are exactly what you’d expect from something this extreme. The TRX sprints to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and tops out at 118 mph, putting it firmly in supercar territory for a full-size pickup.

Visually, the TRX looks every bit as aggressive as it sounds. The front end features a unique grille with SRT badging and a bold red RAM logo designed to let air flow straight through. A performance hood with LED marker lights, darkened headlights, and a steel front bumper with an integrated skid plate make it clear this truck is built to be used, not just admired. Optional graphics, rock rails, and Mopar running boards let buyers dial up the attitude even more.

Out back, the theme continues with a steel rear bumper, smoked LED taillights, red tow hooks, and a T-Rex logo stamped into the tailgate. The sport-tuned dual exhaust exits through massive five-inch black tips, giving the TRX a sound to match its presence.
Underneath, the new Ram 1500 SRT TRX rides on an off-road-focused suspension with forged aluminum control arms, custom spring rates, and Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks. Locking front and rear differentials come standard and can be engaged at the push of a button. The truck sits on 18-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch tires, giving it nearly 12 inches of ground clearance and the confidence to tackle rough terrain at speed.

Inside, the truck blends muscle with luxury. The cabin features leather and suede seats with heating, ventilation, and massage, along with red accents and TRX embroidery. Real carbon fiber trim, a suede headliner, and a thick leather steering wheel with red stitching add to the high-performance feel without losing comfort.
Technology plays a big role, too. There’s a fully digital gauge cluster, a massive 14.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen that’s faster and more responsive than before, a head-up display, wireless charging, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Even the rear seats get heating and ventilation.

Another standout feature is Ram’s Hands-Free Active Drive Assist. According to the brand, it’s the only hands-free Level 2+ driving system offered on a high-performance, gas-powered off-road truck, which adds a surprising layer of comfort to something this wild.
To mark the TRX’s return, Ram is also offering a Bloodshot Night Edition. It brings a two-tone black exterior, red hood graphics, special beadlock-capable wheels, and unique interior details, including red-threaded carbon fiber and exclusive badging.

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will arrive in the second half of 2026, with prices starting just under $100,000 before destination. That may sound expensive, but it undercuts the Ford F-150 Raptor R by a wide margin while offering more power and capability.
