2026 Audi Q3 Adds 268-HP Plug-In Hybrid And 261-HP Turbo AWD Option

Audi is finally giving the Q3 a full overhaul for 2026. Now in its third generation, the beloved SUV gets a fresh design, smarter tech, and a more efficient engine lineup, part of a larger wave of updates following the new A5, Q5, and electric A6 and Q6 E-Tron models.
Visually, the new 2026 Audi Q3 adopts a bolder look with split headlights and taillights. Only the daytime running lights are visible at first glance, while the main matrix LEDs are hidden behind darkened glass surrounded by gloss black trim. Interestingly, each headlight packs over 25,000 micro-LEDs.

At the rear, Audi adds a slim LED bar beneath the OLED taillights. Owners can choose from six digital light signatures, a feature borrowed from the new A6. And thankfully, there are no fake exhausts. Just a clean bumper with hidden tips, at least for now.
From the side, the Q3’s silhouette closely resembles the Q5. Audi says the wheel arches are inspired by the original Quattro. Higher trims get 20-inch wheels, while the base model rides on 17s. Wider tires and better aerodynamics help reduce drag from 0.32 to 0.30.

Inside, the Q3 feels like a modern Audi, but without a passenger display. There’s a 12.8-inch infotainment screen and an 11.9-inch digital cluster running Android Automotive. Audi moved the gear selector behind the steering wheel, freeing up space for large cupholders, wireless charging, and more storage.
One standout feature: acoustic glass for the front side windows—a first in this class, designed to cut cabin noise. The materials and build quality seem improved, addressing past criticism of declining interior standards.

The new 2026 Audi Q3 is still practical. With the rear seats in place, it offers 488 liters of cargo space. Slide the seats forward, and you get 575 liters. Fold them flat, and the space expands to 1,386 liters. Towing capacity is rated up to 4,630 lbs.
There are several powertrains at launch:
A 1.5-liter turbocharged mild hybrid (148 hp, 184 lb-ft), FWD, 7-speed dual-clutch
A 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine (261 hp, 295 lb-ft), AWD
A 2.0-liter TDI diesel (148 hp, 266 lb-ft), FWD

The highlight, though, is the plug-in hybrid. It pairs a 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor for a combined 268 hp and 295 lb-ft. It’s front-wheel drive only and uses a 19.7 kWh battery to deliver up to 75 miles of electric range. A 50 kW DC fast charger can refill the battery from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes.
The new 2026 Audi Q3 arrives in Europe this September. In Germany, prices start at €44,600 for the gas model and €49,300 for the hybrid. U.S. models could land later this year or in early 2026.

With the Q2 being phased out, the Q3 now becomes Audi’s entry-level SUV. Sporty SQ3 and RS Q3 versions are expected later, though the RS will likely ditch its iconic inline-five. A coupe-style Q3 Sportback is also on the way to rival the BMW X2.
An electric Q3 isn’t on the roadmap, but Audi plans to launch a smaller EV in the A3 segment soon.
