1973 Mohs SafariKar Keeps The Classic Of The Wild African Spirit

If you're a fan of hunting in a Safari, we present you the Mohs SafariKar - the weirdest hunting vehicle ever build. Originally introduced in 1973, this hidden gem is just one of the three prototypes built as a safety-oriented vehicle for the hunting big game in Africa. The EPA requirements required a damper on the automobile, this prototype is blending perfectly into the safari landscape.

The innovator of this unique idea of building the ultimate hunting companion is the inventor and entrepreneur Bruce Baldwin Mohs. He invented successfully the instant milkshake, highway barrier reflectors, and a coating meant to prevent television tubes from imploding. And this is his first attempt into the automotive industry. The vehicle is built on the underpinnings of a 1969 International Harvester Travelall frame.

Despite being a vintage-looking vehicle, the designers managed to conserve its timeless aesthetic by adding to the SafariKar features such as an aluminum-tungsten alloy bulkhead wrapped in aluminum panels. For a better safari experience, these aluminum-panels were padded with polyurethane foam and wrapped in black Naugahyde. Also, you can spot the 70s folklore on this model, they left the sliding doors for a classy ingress and egress.

Under the hood, there is still the original IH internals such as the392 cubic-inch V8, empowered by a four-barrel Holley carburetor. According to experts, the original IH's power output is adequate. As strange as it might seem, it's important to know that the main goal of the hunting vehicle is to give rather animals comfort. The front compartment has three-abreast seating featuring a trio of Solar automotive Products Baja Bucket seats. Moth decided to modify them into a pivot to compensate for the centrifugal force.

The old-school cockpit includes an AM/FM radio with a CB unit. The best feature is the airconditioning system, though the system doesn't have it on a prototype. Even if the odometer shows 60 miles, the vehicle is bidding for the price standing at $33,333. If you want a Safari experience you still have a chance until Friday, March 26 at 3:30 pm.
