Nissan Just Dropped A $300 Z Nismo Sushi Knife—And It's No Gimmick

Nissan’s been making some weird moves lately, and this one’s right up there—meet the Z Nismo Precision sushi knife. Yeah, you read that right. While the brand’s out here struggling to find a financial partner, it somehow decided what the world really needs is a $300 Z-branded kitchen knife.
This isn’t just some mass-produced gimmick, though. It’s handcrafted by master bladesmith Satoshi Kiryu in Japan’s Niigata Prefecture, with only 240 units being made as a nod to the legendary 240Z. Nissan says Kiryu is a longtime Z fan, and the knife’s sleek design actually takes inspiration from the car’s side profile. They even got top sushi chef Hiroyuki Terada in on the project to help fine-tune the design.

Each blade is individually numbered in red, stamped with Chef Hiro’s signature and Kiryu’s insignia, and comes in a fancy box featuring all six generations of the Z’s logos. The kiritsuke-style blade is cut, ground, polished, and sharpened by hand—so yeah, this thing is serious.

As Chef Hiro puts it, “A chef is only as good as their knife.” Whether you’re a pro or just messing around in the kitchen, Nissan swears this blade will feel top-tier in your hands.

If you’re a hardcore Z fan, this is easily one of the strangest, yet coolest, pieces of merch Nissan has ever dropped.
