Big news for cаr enthusiаsts and safety buffs! The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) just dropped its list of vehicles slаted for their 5-Star Safety Ratings testing for the model year 2025. We’re tаlking about a hefty lineup this year—37 vehicles in totаl, including some cool electric and hybrid models.

So, what’s the big deal? Well, these tests are a big part of NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program, which is pretty much like the Oscars for car safety. They put cars through the wringer with a bunch of crash scenarios—think frontal, side, and rollover tests—to see how they stack up in keeping you safe.

Why does this matter to you? Sophie Shulman, NHTSA’s Deputy Administrator, summed it up nicely. She said they’re all about giving us the info we need to pick the safest ride. Plus, it pushes carmakers to up their game in tech, which can only mean good things for road safety.
