Jeep Challenges Its Customers By Putting The Chargers At Trailheads

Introduced a few months ago, the Jeep's first electrified off-roader was something both new and fresh on the market. Nicknamed Wangler 4xe, the SUV gives an impressive 49 mpg and 21 miles of all-electric range. Jepp never settles for putting a stop to developing outstanding vehicles, and because they are always encouraged by their fans, they have a new announcement to make. Aiming at originality on the automotive market, Jeep is partnering with Electrify America to create an original Jeep 4xe Charging Network.

The most attractive part of n off-road vehicle, with Wrangler's performance ratings, allows everyone to escape the road and dive-into nature. The raised problem was that the charging network was also away from the trailheads for adventurers and the distance from the charging point to the beginning of the trail would consume already a part of the battery, shortening the off-road range. The perfect decision is to create the charging point right at the trailheads.

Despite being a clever solution for the problem, making it a real-life accessible for their customers emerged into another solvable problem - partnering with Electrify America to build Jeep-branded stations this spring in the most famous off-road playgrounds (Moab in Utah or, the Rubicon Trail and Big Gear in California). If the project will be successful, more charging stations will be open by the end of the year. The trailheads that will have such stations will have the "Jeep Badge Of Honor" and their main goal is to support enthusiasts to explore more.

According to Christian Meunier, Jeep Brand Chief Executive Officer, "Key to making Jeep brand the greenest SUV brand is assuring our owners can enjoy the benefits of electric propulsion wherever they go, including the most iconic off-road trails in the country." Jeep company is one of the adventurous ones that connects its customers with nature and stands for bringing a new level of excitement and enjoyment with this last project.

To ensure fully environment-friendly charging stations, Jeep claims that some of them will use solar technology only while some of them, will have both. All the charging stations will use the standard J1772 connector and Level 2 (240V) chargers. Also, free charging will be a bonus for those charging through a custom Electrify America mobile app. The app will help drivers initiate and monitor their charging. For example, the Wrangler 4xe's 17-kWh battery will be full in just 2 hours.
