Karma Built a 1,200-HP Hybrid V8 for One Customer, and No Second Car Will Exist

Karma Automotive is giving nine wealthy customers the chance to own something truly personal: a car built just for them. The company's new bespoke program will produce nine unique vehicles, each with its own design and mechanical upgrades. The first is called Eximius 1, and it takes the Karma Gyesera to a completely different level with aggressive styling and a 1,200-hp hybrid V8.
The Eximius 1 still shares some parts with the Gyesera, including the roof, doors, windows, and lights.

Almost everything else has been changed. It gets wider fenders, a vented hood, redesigned bumpers, aerodynamic side skirts, a large rear diffuser, and a fixed spoiler. The Borealis Blue paint, white graphics, and exposed carbon fiber give it a look that would fit right in at a race track.
The cabin gets the same racing treatment. Four Recaro racing seats replace the standard setup, while blue and Moondust Alcantara cover much of the cabin. Carbon-fiber details are found throughout, and there's even an emergency kill switch on the center console. A custom racing helmet mounted between the rear seats adds another unusual touch.

The biggest change is under the hood. Instead of the Gyesera's range-extender powertrain, the Eximius 1 uses a 6.2-liter V8 paired with electric motors. The engine produces 550 hp, while the electric motors add another 650 hp. Combined output reaches around 1,200 hp, enough to send the car from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. Top speed exceeds 200 mph.
Karma has also upgraded the chassis with Öhlins semi-active suspension, wider tracks, carbon-ceramic brakes, and 21-inch magnesium wheels.

The Eximius 1 came from a customer who wanted something much wilder than his existing Karma Revero. He will receive the finished car in 2027, and no second example will be built. Karma hasn't revealed the price, but with this level of customization, it certainly won't be cheap.
Eight more buyers will get their own custom-built versions. After seeing the first one, Karma has already given them plenty to look forward to.
