Jeep's New Scrambler SRT Concept Is A Two-Door Desert Truck With a V8

Jeep has found a new way to have fun with the Wrangler platform. Meet the Scrambler SRT Concept, a two-door pickup that swaps the usual off-road approach for something much faster. Shown at SEMA 2026, it offers a first look at the Scrambler comeback Jeep confirmed earlier this year.
The original CJ-8 Scrambler from the 1980s is the inspiration, but this new version has much bigger ambitions. Jeep wants it to handle high-speed desert driving, so it called on off-road racing champion Casey Currie to help develop the chassis.

The result is different from a regular Wrangler. It keeps the familiar ladder-frame construction but gets an independent front suspension, a first for the Wrangler family. At the rear, a setup inspired by trophy trucks is designed to keep the pickup stable when the ground gets rough and the speed goes up.
Jeep has confirmed a V8 under the hood, although the exact specifications remain a secret. A supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat Hemi seems like a likely candidate, but that's still speculation.

The body is just as attractive. Finished in bright Punk'n orange, the two-door truck features a removable roof, a retro-style sharknose grille, and bronze beadlock wheels wrapped in chunky off-road tires. The rear bed gets a roll cage and protective liner, along with two bench seats that can face forward or backward. Need more room for gear? Both seats can be removed.
Inside, dark graphite leather is paired with orange stitching, bronze accents, and SRT badges. Jeep has also added custom grab handles and a multi-panel system for rear passengers.

For now, the Scrambler SRT remains a concept, but it gives a good idea of what Jeep has in mind. A production version could arrive within the next couple of years.
