After 6 years of production, BMW ended the manufacture of the i8 in June 2020, with no successor announced. Despite its age, though, the hybrid sportscar still looks strong, and many of the 20,500 buyers would like to add to its charm with tuning kits.

For anyone intrigued, AC Schnitzer is holding a stock clearing, slashing the price of the i8's bodykit by about €5.6k ($6.5k), with extra cuts for other variants. In 2017, AC Schnitzer revealed their ultimate tuning kit for the BMW i8, which included aesthetic and suspension enhancements.

They are now offering substantial reductions on most of the components of the kit. The carbon-fiber hood scoop is now €912 ($1,054), a saving of €1,809 ($2,090). Carbon mirror coverings are now €706 ($816) less at €539 ($623), while carbon door handle recesses are now €536 ($620) cheaper at €500 ($578). You can also save €803  on the carbon-fiber ornamental side inlets installed on the front and rear fenders, which cost €652 ($754) each.

The rear carbon-fiber wing costs €1,990 ($2,301), which is €721 ($834) less than before. After a €238 ($275) drop, the carbon fiber front spoiler, splitter, and canards are now available for a total of €4,529 ($5,238). Furthermore, the suspension spring package costs €444 ($514), which is only €23 ($27) less. It supposedly enhances handling and drops the BMW i8 by 20-25mm (0.79-0.98 inches).

If you're looking for a powerful sports vehicle, don't be fooled by its mid-engined supercar-like style and gullwing doors. The plug-in hybrid engine combines a turbocharged 1.5-liter and an electric engine to produce 357 hp (266 kW / 361 PS) for older versions and up to 369 hp (275 kW / 374 PS) for later models. The fastest automobile reached a max speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) after accelerating from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.4 secs.
